T.I.L.T.

Things I love Thursday
Ok, so more like Lush Things I'd like to try Thursday ;)
  • Lush Happy 4 SAD

Mandarin, grapefruit and neroli brighten gloomy outlooks

Happy 4 SAD is a cheery shower gel for everyone who doesn't get enough sunshine; this includes those who work under fluorescent lights in malls and offices. Refreshing mandarin oil, anti-depressant grapefruit oil and soothing rose oxymel bring sunshine to your body. We also add in neroli oil, the one that's been proven to induce euphoria. On days when you don't want to get up and go to work, take a shower with Happy 4 SAD and drift away on a cloud of orange-scented vapor.

  • Lush Ghost shower gel

Spiritually uplifting & shimmery – limited time

Let the scent of this beautiful, floral shower gel lessen your fears of the supernatural. Made with rose and dove orchid infusions, Ghost first made an appearance in 2007 and now it's back to haunt us. Translucent, lovely and only around for a moment, Ghost merits a photograph or no one will believe it really existed. All that will remain is soft skin and the fragrance of lilies.

  • Lush Let Them Eat Cake lip balm

or kissable lips as sweet as cake

Orange and lemons, currants and sultanas, vanilla, sherry and treacle. This must be the tastiest lip balm on the planet. As you can imagine it can be quite tricky for vegans to find lovely products, but at LUSH it's quite easy. Except in the lip balm department, where all our 2008 products were vegetarian but not vegan. Many of our vegan friends and co-workers have a great fondness for cake (vegan of course). So when Helen and Noriko blended our new vegan lip balm base, Helen decided to make it cake flavoured. So now everyone's quite happy.

OH NINE Resolutions!

OH NINE Resolutions!
  • Try cross country skiing (never done it before despite the fact I grew up in CO!!) I know, gasp
  • Go snowmobiling
  • Start a reading log for the books I have read
    Here is an idea

  • Take a cooking class with Tato
    Williams Sonoma

  • Get rid of old clothes and shoes I never wear and start figuring out what style I'd like: Start a scrapbook & fill it with images, words & ideas to keep inspired. Keep a list of "must haves" outside closet for easy shopping.
  • Create a new Budget
Wamu has a nice fill in budget calculator I like to use or Microsoft templates for downloadable fun!
  • Have a personal date once a week: Go to a movie, eat an amazing meal, go for a long meandering walk or have a candlelit bubble bath. Just take time out for you. Regularly.
  • Write a letter to the one person you allowed to make 2008 more difficult than it needed to be. Be as angry & vicious as you like, but when you’re done, burn it or tear it into little pieces.
  • Learn to use Photoshop like an almost-pro (YouTube has cute little sessions, but I am at work so I will add the link later)
  • Get active, get physical 3 times a week. Sign up for a class!
Lifetime Fitness is having a little deal right now for a free month if you sign up for one of their packages, oodles of fun classes there.
I also got The Wedding Workout the other day, loads of fun
What others should I add? What are your resolutions?

My favoirte things

Some of my favorite things

  • Google Reader! I have about a million blogs I check daily. So having this handy little site where I can review my blogs instead of logging into each of them one by one is such a total time saver!
  • My Happy Lite! Sunlite at my desk :)
  • Mary Kate and Ashely Olsen's Style: Not so much the trashy hair, dark circles under the eyes and anorexia (crack head) look but here are some great examples of fun scarfs, shoes and kimonos!! And did I mention the SHOES?? <3
  • Swap-Bot: If you like writing letters, making crafts, or putting together fun packages. Try it out. Swap-bot is a online service that organizes group swaps and a community of creative individuals. Swap-bot takes the hassle out of participating in group swaps by organizing all of the participant information and doing all of the partner assignments. On Swap-bot, you can host swaps, join swaps and chat with other swappers from all over the world. Give it a try!
  • Amazon: Seriously, I would have been a mess this Holiday season without it. And if you like to read, used books and the library are the way to go.
  • Cable Knit Bangles: Etsy has a slew of adorable styles and colors
  • Having a family/friend network that will always be supportive, loving and compassionate especially if you fall down... hard. They will tell you to get back up, keep being your loud, horn-tootin', kiss-blowin' silly self. Or the hard times when you do something really stupid and they can tell you in a loving way that you need to fix it or work on it or whatever it may be.
This article I keep in my bookmarks as a reminder from iCiNG about coping with a "quarter-life crisis", taking a hard look at the friendships you have aquired/kept close because of convience or whatever other reasons. Part One and Part Two. Its a bit long, but a great article.
  • Making New Years Resolutions. Usually mine are financial: save 10% of income; Relationship: get more involved with people who are inspirational or great to chat with versus the "drinking buddy", the negative, or the ones that seem to always let you down; Health: Work out 3 days a week, eat healthier. This year I feel like those are pretty routine by now, so I am going to make some "try something new" resolutions. Things I have always wanted to try, and since here in Minnesota it is winter all but three months I will have some neato winter activities to try out. So stay tuned!
Happy Weekend all!! :)
